Tap....Tap....Tap....Is this thing on?

My present theory is that this blog constitutes the equivalent of a fairly psychotic self-dialogue that is mercifully witnessed by nobody but myself.
Therefore, as the current mood is somewhat mellow I shall endeavor to amuse myself.
In coming weeks I will unmask some of Caledon's deepest, darkest secrets.......
Desmond Shang's obsession with the Bunneh..... In RL Des is the result of a cancelled military program designed to turn innocent looking lab rabbits into lethal weapons. He is actually a large white rabbit named Herbert, and Caledon is his testing ground for future world domination.
Next week : The Duchess Sandwich......Club or Melt?
Coming soon: CoyoteAngel Dimsum Unmasked!

Caledon Shines

Well after all the Durm und Strang, not to mention Drahma....
The Caledon Exhibit for the 5th Birthday Celebration is done and just beautiful. Our biggest enemy wound up being the lag produced by the sheer volume of builders and builds on the sims.
But once again Caledon shows that she has many very talented and passionate builders and creators who have done her proud.
And I got my old room back in Sunny Acres.....it is almost time for meds, then a lovely nap.....

Mr Volare

Ahem...
I would just like to say that Mr Vivito Volare is the most kind, understanding, and unspeakably PATIENT man I have known. I adore him.
And I will make every effort to emulate his patience and restraint.

Trembling with Anger and Frustration

I am currently vacillating between uncontrollable sobbing or uncontrollable retching.....or both.
I am hoping to get through this with my sense of humor intact and minimal permanent damage to my liver. We shall see....

Independent State of Caledon SL5B Build

So, I have been very vocal in my opinions on the way the Lab Which Cannot Be Named (LWCBN) bolluxed the presentation of the 5th Birthday Celebrations. As some of you may know, my partner is in charge of the ISC build for the celebration.
I had not volunteered to help initially due to my outrage at the LWCBN's actions, and was not sure how I would handle a request for assistance.
Then last week, our Guv, the man with no spare time ever, spent over an hour on state chat explaining his reasons for participating and listening patiently to his residents loudly voicing opinions.
Now understand, Des was not asking for a vote - he was explaining why he will continue to participate and why he thinks it is a good idea to do so. He asked for volunteers to assist Vivito, and explained why he does not do boycotts.
Ultimately, what convinced me was less about what he said than a respect for his record. Whilst the loud, pitchfork wielding mobs march on the LWCBN with little effect, Des quietly and successfully is a major change agent. Des treats everyone with respect. This means he tells the truth, as much as he knows of it, when he knows it. He does not try to spin anything, and often overstates possible negative consequences just to keep someone from inadvertently suffering by lack of knowledge. Pretty much the opposite of how the grid is currently being managed.
And it works. His residents are fiercely loyal, his land values continue to be maintained, and he causes changes to occur at the grid level.
The LWCBN could learn a lot from our Guv.
So the upshot is that Des asked for volunteers on the build for Caledon (not for the LWCBN) and I offered my assistance to my partner. And I will be swinging a hammer at the advice and example of a couple of men I greatly respect. And hope to be a change agent as well.

Oh for the Love of Pete

How on Earth does the Lab which Cannot Be Named expect to ever solve anything if they are apparently unable to make a clear concise statement?
My B*****t detectors are screaming right now, having read the latest post on the Birthday issue. Evidently they are taking over the organizing, separating the much-courted corporate entities from the unwashed masses by a day, and invite everyone ("and we mean everyone") to submit an application for a PG build for approval by them. They will or will not approve each application, and we will not know who got in until the actual event.
I am completely at a loss to understand why they are unwilling to address the issue by actually addressing the issue.
Here is a sample statement, offered "open source" and copyright free to the Lab which Cannot be Named and is flexible enought to be used again and again :
" We at Linden Labs (R, TM, etc, ad nauseum) are really very sorry. We screwed up and are working hard to fix the damage. Thank you for sticking with us and making Second Life (R, TM, etc.) a success."
Or alternately:
"We are really tired of your constant whining and bitching. This is our playground and if you don't like it, go somewhere else."
I find either preferable to the passive-agressive PR that seems to flow from the sewer outfall that is the official Blog these days.
Just my 2 cents......

Oh Dear.....

Honestly, I never thought it would happen.
I never journal, and do not feel compelled to write.
That said, I find a need to express my 2 cents on occasion, and here only those with an interest (my mother perhaps) need be exposed.
The Lab which Cannot be Named has pushed me to this, with the latest assenine and nitwitted decision by those clueless bubble dwellers charged with making such decisions.
Please let them know how you feel about the decision to exclude some of it's residents from the 5th Birthday Celebrations....
I am sure our concerns will be addressed with the same prompt attention and quick resolution as other inworld issues....
I include my comment left in the Jira created for this issue:

"I personally find the child avatars disturbing, and the Gorean culture of subjugation and abuse of women personally offensive. I abhor violence in lovemaking. So this issue does not have anything to do with me....

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me.

Or does it? "

Yours Respectfully,

Fogwoman Gray
